“Four Decades of Excellence and Innovation – From Vision to Reality” Exhibition of Biomedical Division at InnoCarnival 2015, 31 Oct 2015~ 8 Nov 2015 at Hong Kong Science Park

The exhibition aimed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of HKIE and 30th of biomedical division. A photo gallery was set up to demonstrate the biomedical engineers’ achievements in Hong Kong and milestones of the development of local biomedical engineering industry. The following display items were also exhibited which visitors had the opportunity of direct interaction: an exoskeletal ankle robot developed by Chinese University of Hong Kong for assisting post-stroke patients and people with ankle joint complications; and a gastrointestinal endoscope training unit with a stomach model for demonstration of operation.

The exhibition enabled the public to have better understanding towards the seamless collaboration between biomedical engineering technologies and clinical applications, as well as the contribution of biomedical engineers in safeguarding the well-being of the public.

Visitors had possible response and reflected that they gained more insights towards the engineering contribution in healthcare services and frontier application of medical technologies.
