"Safety
Connecting to Future Smart Hospital & Healthcare" -
Day 1: Hands-on
Technical Demonstrations
Day 2:
Governance and International Vision for Future Smart Healthcare
Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) is going to hold a two-day
International Symposium cum Pre-symposium Workshop on Cyber Security on Medical
and Healthcare System during 30 November 2017 to 1 December 2017 in HKPC
Building.
Smart medical devices and applications can link to online networks to make up
Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). The growth of IoMT technologies in
healthcare has been strikingly driven by a variety of factors such as global
elderly population, higher prevalence of diseases like diabetes and obesity,
and increasing demand for health and fitness monitoring solutions. Smart IoMT
covers broad applications from medical diagnosis, medical treatment, surgery,
to monitoring and tracking of patient’s recovery condition. As such, this
technology has a great potential to minimize the medical manpower for operating
the current clinical management system and effectively increase the quality and
productivity of the medical service in Hong Kong.
However, the development of this technology faces challenges brought by the
emerging hacking activities. According to the report from TrapX Security, cyber-attacks
targeting patient data increased 300% between 2014 and 2016. The vulnerability
of IoMT is drawing greater scrutiny from IT professionals because
internet-connected devices are proliferating in health care and have been
harnessed to launch cyberattacks.
As such, HKPC hopes to synergize the expertise of the Government, IT and Smart
Healthcare & MedTech industries to promote public awareness on cyber
security and related enabling technologies within medical and healthcare
systems. Hence, the captioned two-day International Symposium cum Pre-symposium
Workshop seeks to promote the latest technologies, road-maps and solutions to
local stakeholders towards mitigating cyber security vulnerabilities in the
current healthcare services.
Registration of this seminar is free and seats will be reserved
on first-come-first-serve basis. Participants will be notified for successful
registration. The following is the direct hyperlink to the registration page:-
