Biography:-
Dr. Anthony Chan is the Head of the Biomedical
Engineering Program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. He is also
an Adjunct Professor and teaching faculty of the Biomedical Engineering Graduate
Program at the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining BCIT, Anthony was
Directors of Biomedical Engineering Departments at a number of Canadian acute care
hospitals. Anthony graduated from HKU in electrical engineering, holds a master
degree in clinical engineering, a PhD in biomedical engineering and a certificate
in health services management. He is the author of two books–“Medical Technology
Management Practice”, and “Biomedical Device Technology, Principles and Design”.
He is a fellow member of CMBES and was awarded the “Outstanding Canadian Biomedical
Engineer” in 2007. Anthony is a Professional Engineer, a Chartered Engineer, a Certified
Clinical Engineer and a member of HKIE. He is an advisor to the Canadian Certification
Board of Examiners for Biomedical Engineering and Dialysis Technologists / Technicians,
and was a board member of the Canadian Board of Examiners for Clinical Engineering
Certification.
